bigmog: (moogle mog)
It's been an uneventful few weeks and I suppose that's just how February is. Sometime in there I retired my aging PC of 8 (!) years and built a new one. Many thanks to Johno for his help in getting the best hardware.

With laptops, and tablets, and smart phones all the rage, it may seem odd to invest in an old-fashioned PC. Then again I'm still writing a blog. In some ways I maintain my 90's era habits.

So with a modern desktop at my command, I can now run the most intensive games at high settings even. Sadly, these AAA titles don't often hold my interest for very long. The graphics are a bit better but otherwise too many are uninspired and dull. More and more I prefer the work of small indie game makers. Without a corporate backing, they have more flexibility to make something unique and creative.

To point, I have Kickstartered a few projects that cater to my interests. Add "game snob" to my profile. I earned it.
